The Central Dispatch Center is a 24-hour operation which provides emergency and non-emergency call taking and dispatching for police, fire, and city services as needed. The Central Dispatch Center is also the Primary Answering Point (PSAP) for Fayetteville 9-1-1 calls, which includes transferring emergency calls to the appropriate agencies as needed. The Central Dispatch Center strives to handle all calls in a professional, accurate, and timely manner. It is also a goal to continue to improve the training program for all dispatch employees.
APCO Project 33 Certified
The Fayetteville Police Department Central Dispatch Center is certified with the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Project 33 Training Program. The APCO Project 33 Training Program required our dispatch center to meet certain training standards including public safety call taking, law enforcement dispatching and fire service dispatching. Central Dispatch Center submitted their training program and related materials to APCO for compliance review. We obtained Project 33 Certification in 2010, and will have to recertify on a three year cycle.
